Remington 700 firing Pin Questions?

Please give me some feedback. What is the best firing pin kit to use? What else can you do to the bolt to modify it?

My understanding is that it's a safty to keep kids from being able to chamber a round. I believe if you buy a new shroud and pin it will replace all that and increase lock time

If you don't have a "J-Lock" then leave it alone.

If you do have a J-Lock then replace it with the correct factory parts.

I swapped out the J lock FP assembly with a Brownells unit. Quality piece. Thicker pin, and a "straight" spring as opposed to the squiggly factory spring. Nice blued shroud too.
Brownells says it is a factory replacement part. I recommend it.
