Did all remington 700s that came with HS stock have remington marked buttpads. I'm looking at a 700 with a sendero type stock and pad is marked HS logo on it. It is an older c marked receiver matte finished varmint barreled action. The salesman say it original stock. My gut feeling and past experience is no. Can rem a 700 historian chime in?

I do not think they did. At least, I do not recall seeing the logo on my 700 VS (circa 1996) HS stocked rifle. I removed the butt pad years ago, as it was the most useless excuse for one and replaced it with a sorbathane type one. After that I put the whole rig into a chassis and I have no idea where the original buttpad is (somewhere in the bottom of a drawer I'm sure).

Not sure if that helps...

Just wanted a stock rifle. No mods. For the price he was asking i can go buy a dick's special and buy hs stock for less. If it is a factory 700 vs, Id consider paying little more than dicks special
