I bought two of his stocks, first one prior to his M40 profile.

The first stock was nicely done, clean inletting with really nice figure.

The second one, my preffered, an M40 profile I had shipped direct to LRI and it will soon be part of my new build.

I took the OPs post as informational for those interested in building an M40.

I assume he is not the manufacturer or shilling for him.

Hope to be posting pictures soon of my build in the Gunsmithing forum.

Not to spoil fun, seems to me posting links to commercial sites from a not commercial account would be against the rules of this forum?

If it is against the rules to let folks know where they could aquire an M40 stock then I apologise. Those parts are pretty hard to find and thought it might help those trying to build one or just wanted a beautiful black walnut stock to build a hunting rifle.

I think my 20" sps tactical in .308 would look good in one of these stocks.
This guy, Beever156 on e bay makes some amazing black walnut stocks. I have ask him for years to build the M40 from 1966 and it took him a while but he finally did it and did at a great price. I get my builder to build my hunting rifles and Ibuse his Back Walnut stocks. They are amazing.

I own a few of his black walnut stocks. They make an amazing hunting rifle, beautiful, and at a great price. Some work will have to be done to the stock but not much on the ones I bought. Very nice and a great price.

Im asking LRI to do their full service inlet/bed job.

They add pillars, fill the existing inlet with material than they re-inlet based on exact measurements of the barreled action.

LRI has my stock now.

I should have thought to contact Beev and just have him build me a 40 style stock with no inlet or bottom metal cut.

LRI could have just run the blank start to finish.
