A used remington 700 in 30-06 followed me home. I tried to figure out the month and year it was made by the barrel stamping but they are unreadable. The ser no is B63XXXXX. Does anybody have a look up chart for year and month by ser no? Thanks for your time and help!

Looks like 1981 is the year (manufacture of the 700 started about 1962)

That B, is just the prefix for the serial number, not what year it was made. The barrel stamp if it was a B would be 1981. According to John Lacys book B prefix Remington 700's were made from 1/80 thru 11/87.
