i recently bought the remington 700 sps tactical. It has the hogue stock and is pillar bedded, but when you have the rifle on a bipod the stock comes up and touches the barrel. would glass bedding fix this problem?

If you ran the bedding out approx. 3" in front of the lug it might make a difference.

If you're set on keeping the Hogue stock, might as well give it a try.

ETA: I'd recommend devon steel if you end up doing this.

VK, there have been a couple of post's on here explaining how to bed the front of the Hogue, stock, I did mine, but melted in two 1/4 inch rnd 6in long pieces of rnd allthread then filled the void w/devcon. Dont have a camera or I would post pics, but if you do some searching on here you will find the original post's.

Good Luck

I would just invest in a new stock. The hogue is the biggest POS out there along with remys varmint sps stock. Ive also seen others you steel rods bedded in the forend to stiffen it up. To much work imho.
