Remington 700 vtr

Can the Remington 700 vtr barrel be switched out to a round barrel ?
Not liking the way the muzzle break is .
I have a Remington 1984 700 7mm mag
with my dad's USMC Sniper scope. with a M16 muzzle brake . Love it @ 1000 + yards
Can anyone help ? Thanks

Sure - its still just a regular model 700 action with a funky barrel screwed on. Or buy a good custom or see of you can find a take off barrel in the classifieds.

You can definitely replace it. Look into Remage prefits. These barrels allow you to replace the barrel yourself with a few tools and a headspace gauge. Northland shooters supply is a wealth of knowledge on the topic.

Another vote for Northland. I took my stock Remington barrel off an SPS Tactical and did the Remage. It literally took about an hour.
