Gunsmithing Remington 700 with 40x Bolt with this work?

I have an idea that I want to persue. Before I do, would like some advice from the more informed gunsmiths that frequent this site. I want to build an M40A1 clone in 22LR. Will a 40x bolt work in a Rem 700 action for this application? What type of magazine well? Can anyone help on this?

No, if I understand your question correctly. A rimfire 40X bolt has the lugs in the middle of the bolt not the front like a 700. I think you would need to find a 40X rimfire action. There are a few "clone" rimfire actions out there.
