Remington 700P-338LM needs new Stock

Hey Guys,
I just had a Remington 700P-338LM rebuilt, with a 34" barrel and a NightForce NXS Scope. It currently has the H-S Precision stock on it. I have a Rem 700BDL-30.06 that needs a new stock.
I been thinking about getting a new stock for the 338LM and then rebuilding the 30.06 around the H-S stock.
My question is, can some of you weigh in on a good stock for the 338LM and why you would recommend it, please? I do not intend to do BR shooting with the 338LM, and I may do some hunting out west, so I don't want it to be too wicked heavy.
Thanks

Re: Remington 700P-338LM needs new Stock

Manners new light hunting stocks have some good crossover features for double duty ergonomics. (MCS-EH1)

Any of the smaller profile McM/Manners stocks without the adjustable hardware will be hovering around 3#

A Manners MCS-T or MCS-T3 may work well as a dual-purpose stock for hunting and paper punching. Both of these stocks have a reasonably high comb, although I've found the need to run a stock pack with a bit of padding or fill in order to raise my cheek high enough for the use of medium (1.00") rings. The Manners "mini chassis" system is slick, but a bit heavy. Doing a traditional DBM bottom-metal setup will probably save some weight. You can also do the 90% carbon option to save a few more ounces.

Just keep in mind that with a 34" barrel and a fairly heavy scope, the rifle will never be really light regardless of your stock selection. At one time, my .338LM was wearing a Manners T3 with Badger M5 bottom metal and a 26" GAP #7 barrel; this setup came in at about 17lbs with a Nightforce 5.5-22x56mm scope. That was still about 2.5lbs lighter than a similar setup with an AICS 2.0, though.
