im looking for a action for my next build. this time i want to go with a 700 action but i can get a mod 7 or 710 or 715 or 770 (there may be others) cheaper. my question is what are the diffrences if any to the action its self. ill take the stock barrel and trigger off anyways

Re: remington action differences

The 7 is shorter and has a different footprint than a 700.
The 710 is an entry level and is not on the same quality level of the 700.
I don't have any personal experience with the other two.

I would suggest buying the 700.

Re: remington action differences

The 710/770 there are no after market stocks or parts for. Its a good starter hunting rifle. I own a 710. I like it for the price. But like stated in the last post 700 action all the way. If your looking for a cheap price on the 700 go to Walmart. If I remember correctly. I paid $359.00 before taxes for my 7 mag with scope from Walmart. It will be my new hunting rifle next year. Just got the call today its coming back in a week from GA precision.
