I recently bought a Remmy long action rifle in 280ai with a unfired Bartlein 26" barrel. I got a good deal on it and am not fond of the 280ai so I had it re-barreled to 7-08 and throated for the 168 Berger Vld's. So now I have a new 26" 7mm barrel. I have a Savage target action that I would like to build a long range hunting rig with in 7wsm. Would it be possible to use the barrel that was chambered for a Remington (threads were oversized .010 because of the trued action) and have it punched out to 7wsm and threaded for a Savage target action. I already have all the dies and brass for 7wsm. The barrel was a number 4 contour with 2.5" of shank left above the threads.
