I finally went ahead with a nice 308 bolt action. I had been planning for a while on a Surgeon Concealable Sniper Rifle but was led astray by a fortuitous google search, and I picked up a Remington CSR. I’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but it has been pretty amazing so far. Also, this is my first time ever painting anything, let alone trying to do camo on a rifle, so be kind.

Can you take some pics of the barrel tennion and the receiver? My buddy has a rifle similar to this that he had built about 10 years ago. Just curious if this is built the same way.

Are these the components you wanted to see?

Very nice! I'd like to hear what POI shift, if any, you get from removing and re-attaching the barrel.
I would say there is none, at least as far as my ability allows me to verify. I was able to keep shooting 1/2 moa groups or better, with no noticeable point of impact shift, after repeated disassembly/reassemblies. I shot 100 rounds of Hornady TAP 168 grain ELD Match, shooting 10 rounds (5 each at two different aim points), then taking the rifle apart and putting it back together, and repeating 10 times, with fresh targets. I didn’t see any shift. That is with suppressor, and just being careful to align everything the same each time (suppressor is really the only thing that could be aligned differently).

It is fast. Even with being overly careful and particular and having everything in a case, it only takes a minute and a half or two minutes to take it apart or put it together. They claim it takes just less than one minute, and I can definitely do it in about that. The rifle came with a roll up bag for the components, too. If I have everything in that, it’s much easier than out of the case.

As a side note, I have shot until it was dark the last two nights and have disassembled it without light. Though this doesn’t show speed, it at least speaks to the ease. The only part that takes any real precision is using the barrel wrench, but it is set to 20 lb, so you can’t over or under tighten. You just need to line up the tool on the barrel ring (whatever the part that tightens over the connection of the barrel and receiver).

Very cool and a sweet set up.

It that cadex chassis.

Very nice. Any details on the chassis?

No, it’s a factory Remington rifle, with nothing changed. It uses a modified Remington RACS chassis, which is shortened and made to be able to be disassembled (all done by Remington).

I am somewhat repeating a response I just wrote, so sorry, but it is the Remington RACS chassis, modified to be shorter and able to be disassembled. It is all done by Remington Defense.

Thanks 👍

Enjoy it, looks awesome.
