Up for sale are some Remington Defense 700 Short-Action 7.62's - $1050 shipped per

These are very interesting factory actions as they feature the same coatings and proof markings as the M24. You can see the barrels have the simple '7.62' markings and the bolt has the sandstorm coating and 'M' proof mark known previously as exclusive m24 traits. These are not standard Remington 700's - they are made by Remington defense / custom shop to superior standards.

All actions are G prefix w/ 8/40 holes for scope bases, 24" 1/11.25 RH Twist barrels with AAC 7.62 51T muzzle brakes and matching bolts. You will need your own trigger and fire pin to complete the action.

few heading out today - few left. These are a tremendous value for a near drop in built barreled action.

Any Remington 700 short firing pin assembly will work? Any way you could post a link to what’s needed?

It's odd that it is marked m24 but is a short action. Was "SA" a typo?

I'm glad these are all sold, I couldn't wait much longer without caving in and buying one... maybe next week : )

next week have a few M24 SWS barreled actions in both 7.62 and 300 WM, a pair of M2010 actions, and some really cool Rem Def LTR barreled actions.
Will these 300WM's be similar to the other ones you had with mismatched bolts?

So these were short actions marked M24? I cannot see that in your pictures that you posted. Can you post a better pic of that please? It looks like it just says 700??

They were short actions with M24 coatings. Sandstorm bolts, rem tuff bolt handles with MagnaFlux proof marks as per army spec on m24, simple '7.62 NATO' barrel markings. The receivers are not engraved M24.

The M24 i have and have coming are a separate lot.

They are like the other one. They are factory 300WM M24 barreled actions with all the coatings, simple '300 WM' barrel markings. The bolts are stripped and do not numbers match but all headspace. You will need a trigger group, bolt stop, firing pin and small parts to complete the action. They are $1325 shipped ea.

The Remington Defense Department did a lot of work for police agencies as well as foreign governments. What you have with the short actions could have been from a leftover contract that never was fulfilled due to the bankruptcy troubles that took place. During my time in the Custom Shop we did a few such projects for the Defense Department right up until our final days of employment. I know that Pacific Tool and Gauge purchased upwards of 4500 Remington 700 actions and barreled actions. Euro optics also got in on the melee of Remington selling off everything in WIP so that they could pay off as much as possible. Times were crazy during this period. You guys would shit yourselves if you knew what all of Big Greens AR inventory’s were sold for. Full rifles and parts, which included the Defense AR stuff. Makes me want to smack the shit out of the powers that be that put Remington and all of us former employees in the position it did.

Is there a source for extractors out there besides PTG?

Remington/Rem Co./Round Hill, or Park West firearms, is back up and running. Park West is the old Remington Custom Shop just under a new name. I honestly cannot speak for them anymore but I do know that they are still producing the M700. Brownells was a seller of all Remington parts so you could check there. Other than that I apologize, I do not know where to steer you.
