Remington Model 40 SSA Trigger Pull

Trigger pull on my Remington M40 SSA is about 4 lbs. I know the original specs for the M40A1/3 was 3-5 lbs. Does anyone know what the original specs were for the first M40/M700? I'm assuming that these rifles were issued with trigger pull at 3-5 lbs as well.

Page 180 of Senichs book, One round war it states "according to Remington information, the recommended trigger weight for the M700 (M40) sniper rifle was 3-5 pounds. But many Marines had the trigger adjusted to suit themselves.
