I am in the process of building a Remington XP100-R which is a Model 7 action. I have a few palma barrel blanks that were cut down and the one I really like is 1.155 at the breech end. Will this be enough meat to cut threads and leave enough shoulder for the recoil lug?
Thanks for the help.

model 7 is 1 1/16 (1.0625) so 1.0625-1.155= .0925 divided by 2 =.04625 shoulder max. I would not use that. Too little of a shoulder for contact.

If you are carefull and make the recoil lug a snug fit it will be safe. There are factory rifles out with similar shoulder abutments.
