Re: Shot Show 2010

interesting I thought i swore BM said it would be only a little more pricier than a ar15. and they quoted around 1800 for the enhance acr.. but best not to ninja this thread... Is the MSR going to be sold to the public because Remingtonmilitary.com i thought sold to LE and mil only.

Re: Shot Show 2010

From what i have read...

Remington will only sell to Mil/Leo ....

Bushmaster will sell to civilians ...

Hopefully Bushmaster's press release goes back to the old saying "dont believe everything you read" ... I guess we will see...

Lots of bitchn over at arf15 about this subject (mostly the price)...

Re: Shot Show 2010

If Remington needs to recoup development costs and it doesn't get covered quickly by Mil/LEO contracts, then we may see a civilianized MSR in the future. If the pentagon buys it, that may lock it down, but Remington has gotten clever in the past. (ie 700 milspec)

Re: Shot Show 2010

Okay think I need to clarify myself, Im not talking about the ACR. The ACR was released and dealer pricing is $2100 retail is $2700 for the basic setup.
Totally different rifle than what Im asking about this is the Remington MSR I am trying to get a release date ad price for one of these:

I know that this rifle has gotten a lot of shit from everyone on here but I still would like to get one.

Re: Shot Show 2010

I saw and talked to the Remington custom shop guys a week and a half ago at their booth at the Dallas Safari Club and they had on on display. I asked them about the MSR and he told me maybe this spring and the one with the caliber switch capability would be somewhere around $10,000 and one that would not be able to switch between calibers would be $5000-6000. Don't hold me to this just what the guy said.

Re: Shot Show 2010

10k for the modular version geez better come with that supressor... I don't know why everyone here is hating on the stock, yeah it got holes/cutouts and tons of 1913 rails. But its no different than our current m14 and it doesn't pull tons of vegetation like everyone says it will. This is marketed toward the military and trust me there are plenty of thing snipers have been putting on their 1913 rails. Even the sniper here with the m24 had a rail put on ths side of his stock to put various things on. I believe its a laser to check distance, never asked.

On the topic of rails. Badger had a rifle decked out that owuld give any AR a run for its money.

Re: Shot Show 2010

Ah k well I was able to hit up the Shot Show and I did get to talk to some of the Reps. The $10K quote is correct but that is for the complete package with optics and fitted case...the works. The Chassis system alone is supposed to come in around 1200-1500 but they cannot sell to the public until they have sold 1000 units to the military, not really sure why that is, but that is what they told me. Anyways, hope this helps anyone out.

Re: Shot Show 2010

For the 700 actions, will this come in LA and SA versions? For the version wit the quick change barrel, I guess that will only be LA with special mags for SA rounds?

The magazine well isn't modular, is it?
