Conneticut supreme court ruled today that the 10 families can continue with their law suit against remington since a remington ar15 was supposedly used. I wonder how this will affect remingtons future.

All of those sealed records will now become discovery. I bet there will be some small payout and this goes quiet.

I would imagine that this is on the state level only. Also all complaints were thrown out except "wrongful advertising". They can continue with the law suit on that claim only.

Then it is time to sue spoon manufacturers for making Rosie O' Donnell and all of the cast members of "The View" fat.

Two can play this game just as good, and based on all the memes and funny shit that the gun world has been able to generate with ease, I got a feeling libtards will not be able to earn their place among the 'bullshit lawsuit master race' once we all get in on the fun.

Firearms protection act (or whatever its called) and common sense says Danl Malloy sucks cocks.

Lawyers will make money, some politicians will get air time, Remington will continue cutting deep throats and boring scope base screws off line.

What happened to Remington a few months back, I thought they already claimed bankruptcy? A company claiming bankruptcy isn’t going to have perfect quality control. Honestly what have there really brought to the gun world as of late that would change anything? 700 is old, 870 is old and there new rifles are pretty much just thrown together after someone else builds something and they just put there spin on it.

' Billable Hours ' always makes me smile too . Any law firms Wet Dream .

Hey Remington gives me a boner, back off!

You just got to buy the old ones and "tweak" them slightly.

Reasoning? Their marketing made kids think guns were cool. If I were looking for a pay-day, using the same logic to go after game makers like EA or big Hollywood studios would most certainly pay out better than a company that's basically on the verge of bankruptcy.

I have no problem with Remington but if your broke and can’t fix your quality control in your new products you just sink faster. Then you are aloud to get nailed for marketing, Stanley better watch out for there hammer marketing then. More people die to hammers then guns in a given year according to the FBI then ar15s.

That's not in keeping with their political agenda, though. Yet.

What marketing?

Kids dont read Field and Stream nor American Rifleman today.

Kids learn about guns from Fortnite. I hear them yelling get the RPG, I have a SCAR, Remongtons exposure to kids is nill.

This will be a test of how far we have moved into Newspeak.

When a 160 year old design from the company is still being reproduced by at least 4 present day manufacturers, to the extent that aftermarket components, replacement parts and different caliber conversion kits are readily available and almost interchangeable, you know they done something right...

The one that William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody carried and continued to carry well into the cartridge handgun era never failed him.

Mine has never failed me either.

Its a beauty and built like a tank but in my eye the 1860 Army increases my pulse more....

Stupid me I was cleaning mine, a Navy Arms or some such, in a tub of what I thought was just solvent but it ended up being death inducing solvent and it stripped and pitted my beautiful revolver......

:(

what an absolute piece of crap that ruling is. so i guess if someone driving a jeep knocks off a bank and kills some customers, their families have a legit cause of action against jeep? in what world does that make sense? surely remmy has some serious insurance in place for crap like this though, and also surely those premiums won't be getting any cheaper... hit 'us' in the pocketbook, not a bad game plan for the anti's.

What’s next? Cars? Food you could choke on? Steak knives?

That's great I guess I'll sue GM since my sister was killed in one of their vehicles.... Cha-ching She was 21 at the time..... 40years ago.

Most shootings result in lawsuits, most are tossed via PLCAA. I think one was successful as the shop was gross negligent as law allowed. This will go back to Federal Court where it will be tossed, since there is zip negligence. For example this quote:

"Nicole Hockley said Remington and other gunmakers need to stop gearing their advertising toward troubled young men."

Well keep in mind Adam Lanza did not buy the weapon, he stole it from his mother whom he murdered. So how exactly are they going to show Remington marketed the gun to a killer when it was actually bought by his law-abiding mother?

Damn that sucks to hear. A lot of people do say the Colt's "point better" and feels more natural in the hand. And my Ruger Vaquero certainly lives up to that. I have not used any solvents to clean firearms in the past and most definitely will not be doing so in the future either. I prefer to follow the K.I.S.S. principle and if it is not something that I can readily procure and obtain on an extended hunting or trail excursion, or similar circumstances like that, then it is a good idea not to rely on it.

Your 1860 Army would most likely be an ASM (Armi San Marco. Brescia, Italy. Company now defunct) or an Uberti. Navy Arms is one of the first wholesale importers of reproduction Old West guns and these two companies are their sole contracts for many years.

And the mother had it properly lock up.... Kid kills mom takes guns and goes on killing spree.... So if he steals a plow truck calls in a threat to a school and the have all the kids exit the building now he can just plow them down.... So the parents sue western plow Co. And the maker of the truck... Maybe Goodyear tire and rubber to boot....... This is bulls hit.... That blame is on the person who committed the crime no-one else.

They always hit us in the pocketbook but never get hit in their pocketbook.

An AG makes an unconstitutional law they prosecute and defend using our tax money.

We appeal/defend using our money.

We win we get paid by tax payer money.

Its a crime.

Probably Uberti.

I was young and dumb.

1988 I was in the USMC posted to US Embassy Moscow.

One night we watched the movie "The Outlaw Josey Wales"

Friend had a Dixie Gunworks catalog and I said "Cost is no issue make me up an order of Josey Wales Guns and Ill write the check"

He ordered me up an 1860 Army, a brass framed short barrel revolver, belt, buckle and holsters.

They shipped to my home of record and I didnt see them until two years later when i came back state side.

Had no idea what I was doing shooting it. Just went to Kittery Trading post and without guns in hand said "What do I need?" and left to go drink beers with friends and fire away.

My powder measure was one of those hollow tubes with a tight fitting insert you would pull to the desired measure. I just went with the bottom of the slide becasue why wouldnt it be "full measure?" Why would they include the extra capacity? It would be wasteful.

Pouring individual charges was boring so a bought a brass powder magazine that Id put my index finger over the tip open the valve filling the entire spout and that was my charge. I have no idea how many grains I was loading but it all fit in the cylinder and left room for a ball so it had to be right.

God favors fools cause I shot that thing quite a bit and never blew myself up.

Probably a good thing I destroyed it.

Ive watched Josey Wales since and Im kind of let down by me fellow marine as it appears he should have ordered me up some Colt Walkers not an 1860 Army......Although that 1860 Army is a way more elegant piece of work.

China should be named in the suit since without gun powder that AR-15 would of never worked. Tang Dynasty around the 9th century, China has more money then Remington.

I am suing Gillette because I cut myself shaving.

You must have been manscaping because having your "partner" choke on a pube would be a sign of your toxic masculinity.

People that use Gillette cant grow a proper beard.

Ill be getting one of these bad boys as soon as....I.....use....the....last of .....my Gillette ......disposables

So, Class Action Lawsuit against Mother Nature for drowning all them folks who went down with the Titanic. Side-Action will be against the White Star Line as well. But mostly against the ocean, because it WAS the hand that did the killing.

Who can I call as a witness? ;)

As if that's not enough, The Libturds have introduced a bill in the House to require background checks on ammo. I think Commifornia already tried something like this and it went no where. It is, however, an eye opener and testament that we can not let our guard down. These Liberal maggots just are not gonna give it up. What I do look to happen is that if it gets any traction at all, look for the price of shelf ammo to jump again.

Meanwhile Monsanto and Big Pharma doing what they do and remain untouched.

Aren't there more kids killed in school bus accidents each year than school shootings? I'm not saying loss from either is right, but why aren't school buses a national emergency? We know the answer..

You guys talking about suing auto makers may or may not be joking, but I can guarantee you, if this ruling stands and I get hit by a Mustang, Charger, Challenger, Corvette or any other high performance car capable of triple digit speeds, marketed to kids as the cool vehicles to drive, and sold by dealers to individuals who do not have the required driving skills to operate one safely, you can bet I'll be making that argument and citing precedent. They sold a high-performance (high capacity) vehicle (assault rifle) to an individual who never went to a high performance driving school (background check), and marketed it as a speed demon.. Mustang... Hellcat... (Modern Sporting Rifle)….. No reason anyone NEEDS a vehicle that goes 150mph, right???? (no reason anyone NEEDS an AR15). You can bet I'll be using their own words against them

Been thinking about this.
Court ruled that they can continue on only one bases and that is deceptive advertising.
They claim that Remington's advertising is aimed at children.
Well legal owner of the gun was a middle aged woman, not a child. She was murdered.
Lanza was 20 years old and not a child either.
Nucking futs but that is not being brought up.
So to me, they have no case since an under age person did nothing illegal.

In the Remington case it is not about design, safety features, inherent dangerous situation that a reasonable person should have known about......its based on the court saying they marketed the rifle in a way that was reckless and enticed kids to misuse the product.

Show me examples.

Most of the gun advertising I see is pretty lame and unlike most kids I actually frequent places were it can be scene.

Unless you are a gun person you do not see this advertising unless.........

You Google "AR 15 videos" and get directed to Youtube to watch a whole shit ton of chicanery involving firearms.

Perhaps the families should be suing Google and Youtube for this content. Much deeper pockets.

But isnt advertising and Google/Youtube content speech?

Which would the libs rather get rid of Free speech or the 2nd Amendment.

Oh Im sorry, thats a trick question as we all know they want to get rid of both equally as much its just that they know they cant get rid of free speech until they get guns out of the hands of the People.

Remember Joe Camel got taken out by a lawsuit like this and it cost big tobacco billions. Now I have no love for cigarettes but their profit margins have to be 1000x what a competitive gun manufacturer must make... and the cost will be passed on to us.

They’ll just nickel and dime us on guns until we’re like Britain and then they’ll come for our knives.

All the more so because Jeb Trump and the Cuckpublicans let in millions of Brown Socialist voters.

Cigarettes are the only product that when used as per the instructions kill the user. Not quite the same.

From an article I read here-

"There were five justices seated for the Supreme Court hearing, which took place in November 2017. Justice Kahn and Justice Robinson, both newly appointed, weren’t present for the hearing but were involved in the court’s decision."

Seems kinda odd that they can weigh-in when they missed the hearing...

You know, there is one really strong defense against all the bullshit they can throw at Remington:

All Remington products follow all applicable state and federal laws currently enforced AND contain both a trigger lock and instruction/safety manual with highlights, red letters and boxed paragraphs.

So what is it they did wrong? The advertisement? It's a goddamn weapon, where's the question? Didn't it do what it was advertised to do? In other words, what is it they could have done that would have prevented a lawsuit? I guess that's the real bit of info we should take from this. And doesn't Remington even ENGRAVE safety shit on their weapons? I haven't touched a Remington product since the army.

On the other hand, Remington does make some pretty poor decisions, like buying out AAC and then KEEPING the very design flaws that brought it down in the first place!

They said in the suit that Remington arms promotion of the AR-15 was geared towards Adam Lanza and other kids....... He killed his mother took her keys opened her safe stole her Legally owned guns andwent on a killing spree...... It ends up in Scotus and is tossed out Congress already passed a law protecting gun manufacturers from liability... Another activist judge.....

All of this ruling means very little other than "death by a thousand cuts". The only purpose is to have a firearms manufacturer spend money on legal defense. The only winners are the attorneys. There is always a chance for a payday if Remington (in this case) chooses to pay out rather than go to court. Either way, it costs Remington money.

Why are you fellows thinking that our courts are just and the law is precise?

Not that our legal system was ever perfect but especially in today's climate?

They are currently locking people up with serious time for bad thoughts, non-existent violence, and fabricated evidence.

Cigarettes are the only product that when used as per the instructions kill the user. Not quite the same.

Agreed but so what? They're just going to roll over that argument without a second glance. Gun kill people, that's what they'll say.

You guys keep thinking that facts and logic are going to win the day here. No, emotion trumps facts in almost everything but physics.
