A local gun shop has 3 different Remingtons 308 for sale:
PS with Hogue stock for $599
Police model (cant tell what type of stock) $699
Sendero with stainless fluted barrel for $799
XCR model for $1100

Quite the price range on the models. All are bull barrel models. What I don't know is if the cheaper one would be accurate enough for 500 - 1000 yard shots or if I would be better off buying the XCR.

Can you board members let me know which model is giving me the most value for my money? I am not currently shooting anything long range ( I compete in pistol and 3 gun matches) but I would like to work on developing the skill set for 1000 yard shots. Thanks

Re: remington question - which is best?

If he has a 700P for that price, I would jump on it. The Sendero is also a very good buy at that price.

Re: remington question - which is best?

Is the Sendero SF a SA? The caliber is in question.

The P and Sendero have the superior stock (H.S. Precision) IMO.
Between those two, they are practially the same rifle.

If the Sendero has less palm swell, I would pick it over the P.
If you have thoughts of shortening the barrel, go with the P.

If it were me, I would go with either the XCR or Sendero.

I have the XCR, and I like it a lot. I'm sure I would like the Sendero as well.

Both are stainless, and that's why I put it ahead of the police model.

Re: remington question - which is best?

I would buy the Police Model and use the difference in ammuntion.

I would jump on the police model for that price. As long as it has the HS stock. I have a model of all listed there and the XCR is my favorite. But if that price is for the true Police model with the HS stock its a helluva price for a gun that will shoot great
