has any one done one? how expensive is this? i seen one for sale on here and was offered a trade but i dont know if it is a dependable setup.

Ive never put one together, It wouldnt be hard to do. For the average Joe to switch the barrel they would need to right equipment to do it and just double check it with a go/no go gauge. Would help if the recoil lug was pinned to stop it from moving.

Recoil lug needs to be pinned. All you should need is an action wrench and a barrel vice.

Yes, it should be very 'dependable' and you can safely change barrels with as little as a shop vise & notched hardwood blocks, a barrel nut wrench, a dead blow hammer, a go-gauge and a piece of scotch tape.
