Are these two the same contour?

I'm looking for a 30 cal SS cut-rifled barrel in sendero contour for a rebarrel project and I notice a number of sites with barrels for sell describe this contour as RV.

If they are the same, I may have found a barrel if 10 twist will work with 155 - 175gr bullets.

For most they are the same/ very close. Easiest way is to look at each makers dimensions.
In 308 a 10 twist will work well for heavier projectiles. I run 155 all the way to 208 amax out of one of my 308 rifles.
Good luck

Re: Remington Varmint vs Sendero contour?

The sendero usually has a longer/bigger shank before the barrel starts to tapper down. It also might be slightly larger at the muzzle but not much. I had a Manners stock that was inleted for a Rem Varmint and had to open it up a bit at the shank end to allow my Rock Sendero contour barrel.

I believe Rock barrels are the only company that there is a difference between their R/V and Sendero contour...being the Sendero is slightly heavier and has a larger OD at the muzzle.

But all barrel makers seem to vary in length of shank vs each other on the R/V contour.
