Gunsmithing Remington woes

I have .308 win Remington PSS that is picky as all get out on ammo. Some it will take and some the bolt will close but wont latch. I believe but don't know ( I'm not a gunsmith outta the shade ) but I think it may be a headspace problem. Thought I would post it here as most of you know these rifles.
Here is a list ammo it will take and wont.

Will Take
Remington
PMC
Remington-Peters
WW Super
Sears
GGG

Wont take
Federal
Winchester
Lake City

I reload my own and get brass where I can so some of the brass above is old and obsolete. So tell me what you think. Is it a headspace problem? Or not?

Re: Remington woes

It's an old brass problem. Once it hardens it likes to spring back. Causing long case shoulders especially.
Edit: time to anneal your cases.

Does it do this with new brass/ammo? If there's no problem taking new ammo then you need to crank over a little more when reloading. Use good FL dies and bring the sizing die down just a little more so you get more over-travel.

If it's new brass...you have a headspace problem.

Re: Remington woes

If your ammo is reloads from once, or more then once, fired brass that wasn't fired in your weapon it's not the weapon it's most likely your reloads, your reloading set-up, that brass, or a combo of those things.

Cool beans man! Annealing isn't my favorite chore. But, it's got to be done. Especially on the WSM's and double especially on the WSSM's. That is unless you like spending big money on brass...

Speaking of which I picked up over 60 rounds of FC match brass in .308 and 40 rounds of .300 WSM brass today at our clubs deer rifle sight in.
