Remington XCR Long Range Tactical Stock Question

Can I take the stock from a Remington XCR Long Range Tactical and put it on the 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD if they are both from .308? I know the XCR has a longer barrel so I am thinking no, but I would like confirmation.

As long as they are both short actions or both long actions, they will interchange. If they were both 308's, then they both should be built on the short action and should be able to switch back and forth.
