Ok guys here is pics of the targets that I shot with my measurements and OnTarget measurements. I have a Remmy 700 SPS Tactical with 5r take off stock, EGW 20MOA base, Warne Mid rings, Hawke 4.5-14x42 scope and Harris Swivel Bi-pod.

THIS IS 100 YARDS ..................

The rounds that I know were flyers i did not include in the measurements you should be able to see that in the pics. I also have all the info on the reloads and weather written on the target for those of you that want to try out the loads

The average is about 2575 with 44.5 grains or so. What I will do soon is load up some rounds only with BR-2 primers and varget 44.5 and 44.7 grains. to me its seems like varget likes BR-2 and 4064 likes Federal 210m's.

they are 4 round groups reason being is because of the type of loading tray. but i will post some recent 5 round groups i did not to long ago.

so far i can shoot a nickel 100% hit @ 100 yards. i can even do a dim haven't tried it yet

Thanks for the reply.
I went out this evening with my SPS @ 200 yards and tried 43.6 grains of Varget, 175 SMK in Lapua brass @ 2.870. CHrono at 10 feet exactly to middle of it.I was getting 2575 @ 10 ft. with that 43.6 and that kinda accuracy I couldnt beat as I went up in grains. I was really surprised at the accuracy everything just suddenly came together!! Ive been messin with some BLC2 but decided to work harder at finding the load for my gun in VARGET instead. Damned if that 43.6 didnt shoot three amazing shots (for me). All 3 were in almost the same hole could barely tell them apart!
I had only loaded 3 for velocity test, thinking it would be slower but was wrong! Wished I had done more in that weight. I then moved onto some heavier grain Varget loads I had ready but .I shot 5 shots at 44.1, 5 @ 44.4 and PRESSURE so I quit. Those loads opened up to 1.89 inches @ 200 yards. So looks like Im gonna work that 43.6 and see how she does Ill post later this weekend. Good luck with the SPS!

Nice work

there.

The pressure your having might be because of the COAL being 2.870 just for the heck try them loads at 2.800 thats what I load mine at.

For me I had to chrono at about 17 1/2 feet because of the range setup that I go to. it was about 6 1/2 yards.
With my sps I did not see any kind of pressure even at 45.0 grains of varget or 4064. I was using winchester brass with BR-2 or Federal 210m primers. What I did try was some berger 175 VLD bullets seems like I have to work up a whole different load for them. When I have some time I will post the pictures of how the berger 175 VLD bullets shot compared to the SMK 175's

Re: Remmy 700 SPS Tac & 175 SMK

Pretty nice! It definately seems like the sps likes the imr 4064 better. I actually had my best results with 42.0gr of IMR 4064 with a 168gr SMK seated to a COAL of 2.803.

here is the difference between 2.800, and 2.803 with 42.0gr of charge
here is 2.800

and 2.803

These are 3 round shots on a stock sps tactical in .308 with a SWFA SS 10x and a Winchester bipod at 100 Yards
