Do you have a specifics use for this rifle? Goal weight? Are you running the factory stock?

Fluting has been debated to death in terms of performance and heat dissipation. If you like the look, go for it.

If you suppressor is a heavier stainless model then a heavier barrel will help with POI shift.

My 300 has a Heavy Palma contour and I couldnt be happier.

Fluting: just like barrel break in procedures ... Very debatable. Best advice for fluting would be of you want to have a cool design on the barrel, go for it!

Replacing barrel: from what a respectable gunsmith told me, it's not worth cutting back vs getting a new barrel altogether.
This again can be up to debate

Like Patrick said, depends what you are doing for
Length/weight. You had a 22" but I'm sure for a 300 win mag you need a minimum 4 inches on it (unless you got a suppressor) for a total of 26" minimum to start maximizing on the magnum..

Also you didn't tell us if you reload or not, what grain round you're shooting. If you're also looking for twist info, 1:10 should be good up to 220 I believe.
