Replacement charging handle in SR-25

Hey guys
Recently picked up an SR25 EC and a BCM 762 Gunfighter. The 762 gunfighter does not fit as well in the SR25 as the PRI/KAC/LMT latch/charging handle that's in there. Is there anything to do to get it to fit better or am I best off just trying to change the latch on the stock CH?

The fitment seems to be binding in some spots, as I can smell anodizing burning off when doing manipulations and see wear rubbing on the top corners of the charging handle. It does require a bit more force to charge than the stock CH.

In manipulating it now, I find I am not getting as much surface area to charge as I do on my AR15s with BCM Gunfighters, and wish to have a little bit more.

I would say take a grinding wheel and dremel it until it slides in smoothly.

What MOD Gunfighter did you get, if you don't mind me asking? I have an SR 25 whose charging handle I've been wanting to replace. I think your experience has swayed me (and for that I am greatful) toward the PRI. My OBR came with a PRI and the latch on that is nice and thick. It's is noticebly meatier than the one on my KAC. As for your Gunfighter dilemma, I know that PRI sells just the latch of the (charging handle). That might be an option if sanding/filing doesn't do the trick.

Got the Mod 4, medium latch. The one that comes with the SR-25 seems to be a KAC handle with LMT latch according to KevinB, I know this comes on the EMC and EC models.
I am heavily leaning towards just getting a new latch and keeping the KAC/PRI handle.

eta: what latch do you have on your PRI? I think I may just get a different latch and bump the pin out and install it.

I don't rightly know what kind/size the latch is on my OBR's PRI. Truth is, I didn't even know that PRI made different latch sizes. I just know that it is considerably easier to charge my OBR (with the palm of my right hand) than it is to charge my ECC. But I will say that personally, I would spend the extra cash and get a new charging handle rather than change the latch on my existing handle. I guess I'd rather keep as much of the original pieces of my SR 25 factory stock.

PRI sells a latch that is designated for the SR25. The part number is #05-0041.
