Re: Rescheduled Team Concept Class May 2/3

I couldn't make it back down to NC for this class, but plan to for future classes. Hope you guys trained hard and had a great weekend.

Re: Rescheduled Team Concept Class May 2/3

We conducted the class this past weekend and I can't say enough about how well everyone did in the class, students worked long hours both days. I had alot of fun running this class and it turned out really well with the weather, it didn't rain on us one bit!

We started out with zeros and getting some ground work done at 100, 300, and 600yds, we concentrated on the basics and getting good dope at those yard lines.

Moved to the barricades where we shot weak side standing, kneeling, and sitting then switch over to strong side. Students did really well shooting at an HK target at 100yds and kept it in the hand and gun area.

I demonstrated being the observer and had Ratbert as my shooter of how to get a shooter on to a hidden target that he couldn't see in the prone. All the students got hits on target within two to four shots, observers could only see the head of the target on a 8x17" steel bowling pin knockdown target.

Day 2
We started off with alternating teams on the barricades and in the prone again in the morning shooting steel out to about 500yds for a couple of hours.

We started the team competition in which they shot know your limits @ 100yds. Positional barricade weak side sitting, kneeling, and standing then went to strong side standing and kneeling at 100yds. Target detection and selection drill at 100yds.

Then moved to the truck drill in which students had to engage off the roof three shots, and bed of the truck for three shots then move to the barricade to engage another target, and finally two more targets from the prone.

We then moved to the tower and two teams had to run from the stageing area to a three story tower set up at the top, and using a count down had to engage a bobbing pirate face target at 50yds simultaneously. I know the SEALs did it at 30 but I wanted to make it a challenge and I knew the students can shoot better than any SEALs so I put it at 50yds.

They then had to deploy from the staging area to engage pirates climbing up the side of a cargo ship, we didn't have water hoses and besides its much more fun to shoot a pirate in the face with a high powered rifle.

All in all I can't say enough about the quality of students I had this past weekend, I had a great time and you guys did an awesome job!! Thank you!

It's when you go off behind the hay bales to "talk to yourself" that I feel the class gets a bit awkward.

Nice pic Brad, can you send me the fullsize versions of anything you took? (or a link)

Well your secret is out. Sean was playing some "air harp". Sean is quite skilled at playing the harp. Girlie girl.

Thanks for trying to make this ole POS strong. As I read this I just did twenty for yah. Just wait until I practice some. Next time. POA-POI groups.

Actually kidding a side. It was quite interesting to hear Sean give verbal and hand descriptions of his shooting skills. A different spin on dry firing. Was that dry firing behind the hay bales we heard too.

Shawn, I will send you the requested pics.
