Response to active shooters....

It's cutting down on body count and quick action by good guy with gun is not promoting desired sheep response.

MA teachers union calling for an end to active shooter training in response.

It's too scary for children.

They just don't get it. It's the world we live in now and no amount of "gun control" is going to save it. We have lost two generations of kids to the "instant gratification" and "time out" parents and when you don't teach kids about being "accountable for your actions" or "this is how you take care of Bullies", this is what they will forever be faced with. Times have changed and these kids need to change with it. I feel shitty for these kids, but all they have to do is look at how they were raised and taught. Liberalism hasn't done this country any favors. I thank God, my parents/relatives put a boot in my ass and showed me the way. Mac

The comment from the union was don't focus on response, focus on the root cause.

The root cause won't be mental health issues or sick individuals

It will be law abiding gun owners.

@10ring1, I look at it just a little differently and much more sinister than that. I think they absolutely get it and know exactly what they are doing and that is pushing gun control. It is better for no one to have guns than for law abiding free men and women to have guns. We all know that criminals ALWAYS turn in their weapons when asked by local law enforcement. I find it abhorrent that these teachers would sacrifice kids in order to perpetuate their political narrative. "It's too scary for the children", better to be scared than dead.

They could do it on weekends and hire adults to play the part of the kids.

The real kids could practice a standard earthquake drill that carries over to an actual active shooter response. You know take cover and when clear escape the building.

Agreed, but someone needs to face facts. We live in a F'd up society now and I know, "It's for the children" and all that B.S., but my God man, are people that stupid and lame?? You're right, look at the shitholes known as L.A./Chitcago/New Yorkistan and many others, we need to protect ourselves, because Johnny Law sure ain't going to be there in time! I live in a pretty small town, I like it that way and the shit is even reaching here. Sometimes it's hard not to blame "the children" for all this shit and that's just a terrible way to view it, but sometimes IDK? This World/Country has lost so much common sense, it's just F'n unbelievable. I've known for quite some time now, that the U.N./Globalist have wanted us disarmed for decades, we are a threat. Problem is, our .Gov is allowing us to be be the "bait for the trap" and once we're disarmed, F only knows. We broke away from Mother England for a reason. I miss the "old" people, that I used to poo-poo when I was younger, those elders had it goin on. In my old age, I'm really stressing over all this shit. I am not sure that sheltering (or outright lying/misleading) children is the best way to prepare them with the sometimes harsh reality of the real world.

There is a balance to be had here somewhere. As to not completely traumatize the kids yet raise awareness to life and required skills.

No one GAF if I was scared during the nuke drills. Just do it and STFU. While that might not be the correct approach, we might be able to find a way to split the difference...
