Even though it looked like a beautiful Spring day for a change, conditions at Rayners were typical Rayners Spring conditions... WINDY and ever changing as usual. Know it knocked the scores down on quite a few, you'd get a shot off then as quick as you could cycle the bolt it'd be the opposite direction or three times as strong. I know on the 990 yard stage I went from the shooter before me at 4 tenths and getting a good hit to me being at 2 1/2 mil and still wasn't enough on the last shot. My son Chris, jokingly said if the targets had been placed sideways he's been close to a 400 instead of what he got. I'm sure a lot felt that way with so many misses from Mother Nature. Someday we'll be blessed with a calm day for a change, so frustrating but when it's your turn to shoot you're at Mothers Natures mercy.

But fun as usual with a great group of shooters. DaleT, myself and Randy got to try out our new LR pistols and even though we missed a lot of what should have been easy hits and a score that could have been well into the 300's we still were pretty happy with our scores overall considering conditions. Those new 7finger aluminum stocks are gonna work pretty nice. I shot mine prone the whole match which I've never done before with one of my pistols and it sure is different. No place for a cheek weld and I still have a sore neck from holding my head up to see thru the scope. But did learn it can be done and we can try one of the matches at TVP this summer with them.

We had a few new shooters try out the long range game and we all hope they had a good time and plan to come back. Many thanks to Tom, Carolyn and everyone that helped make the match so much fun and also allowing us all the privilege of using their facilities to enjoy this great sport.

OK, enough rambling here are the results.

Congratulations to Dave Moore for a well earned high score.

Forgot to add this initially but congratulations to Dusty for his first 300, been working hard on it and did it with his Savage. Who needs those customs when a Savage will do? :)
