I think all will agree the word for the day for this months match was WINDY. Small turnout on Saturday, think everyone was hoping conditions would be better on Sunday. With a top possible score of 645 and seeing high score was only 360 shot by Chris Michael (congratulations Chris) that tells the tale on conditions. As usual I think most everyone had a great time although frustration was evident after a good hit then seeing the next round be over a Mil off. That's part of the game and we have to live with it and hopefully learn while being humbled by Mother Nature.

Sixty two (62) entries this month which was down from last month. Noticed a few persons shot both days and duplicated their scores for both days which shows conditions were about the same so no one got a easy ride by shooting any particular day. Very challenging conditions always even on a calm day, if you haven't visited Rayners Range you owe it to yourself to bring along a friend and give it a go. It's only to 1000 yards but it'll be one of the most challenging 1000 yards you'll shoot.

I heard Chris Michael made six fantastic shots on station one, three on the lil 4"x5" at 500 yards and one on the 8" circle at 600 yards and then two on the wee small 4 1/2" circle at 600 yards. Great job even if it had been perfect conditions and even better considering the conditions. Randy Wise shot his handgun to a 260, he keeps this up my 310 won't hang for long. I get a real treat spotting and watching others get a hit after calculating and adjusting, we all know this isn't easy but seeing everyone come out and work at perfecting their skills just makes the day that much better.

We all have to keep in mind we are in the greatest Country in the World and we're still able to enjoy shooting our guns at places such as this. Someday weekends such as this may not be available, keep this in mind and consider the upcoming election and what you're decision will be at the ballot box.

Thanks again to Tom and Carolyn Rayner for hosting such a great place to shoot. The staff and food were great as usual, I just hate to think that we only have one more regular LR shoot and the Fall Tactical Match coming up.
