I'm still trying to decide on night force or premier and I'm getting into the field tactical and want something that will be accurate for me when ranging targets. The mlr2 or the gen 2 mill dot I like the premier glass and turret better but I really like the mlr2 reticle better On the night force because of the .2 mil increments at the top of the reticle. With the gen 2milldot can a guy still get very accurate without the .2 increments.

If you find good ranging features very important, you might want to take a look on Schmidt&Bender scopes. Heres 5-25 MSR reticle in action:

Also H2CMR reticle works better in milling than traditional sniper reticles.

Its $300 more expensive, however its worth it. I got mine in a couple of weeks ago and after a couple of range sessions, it has some nice features over the other reticles I have used (MLR, Gen2Mildot, Gen2XR, P4F). I would get another one in a heartbeat, especially if you are wanting a ranging reticle.

Re: Reticle for ranging

If you really want to get into field tactical i'd suggest you only consider FFP scopes and stay away from mildots which tend to suit more advanced shooters/specialists.
