I have had very good luck with H1000 with 139g Scenars/140g JLKs. I was wondering if I could expect more of the same with a slower burner like Retumbo or RL25. I have seen some good loads with Retumbo in 243 and 25-06 which arent traditional slow powder cartridges.

Anyone have any experience with Retumbo or RL25 in 6.5x284?

I was thinking with the 139/140/142s or 160g Woodleighs.

thanks

RL-25 has run faster but with a touch more pressure than anything that I had that liked H1000. I've not done enough testing with Retumbo to say one way or the other.

I run 140 jlk with H4350 CCI primer. New load that I have gained velocity using reloader 17. tried both RL25 and retumbo but i did not get that one hole in the accuracy department. shot through 30 inch Bartlein, schneider, benchmark, and krieger barrels. good load advice on 6MMBR.com for 6.5x284, which is my favorite round.
