This question is decidedly untactical but out of curiosity is anyone here familiar with the equipment for the revolver 1500 class of the NRA police matces? I've tried to find information and been unsuccessful. A buddy asked me about it after seeing the picture of Enoch Smith in the feb 2011 match coverage in American Rifleman. Seems to be a pretty heavy barrel/integrated sights with a kydex holster? Im sure it's custom but does anyone know a smith who does them?

Re: Revolver 1500?

There are few out there . Search for PPC smiths. Alan Tanaka in the LA area is one of the best.

The 1500 class pistol is pretty close to an unlimited catagory, very large diameter barrels etc...

The integral sight you see is actually a 3 position sight rib made by Aristocrat. its machined to fit low on the pistol.

Re: Revolver 1500?

Thank you, I appreciate the information. It seems that practicing a DAO revolver at 50 yards would certainly help with trigger control (even though the actions are slicked up quite a bit). I might have to give Alan Tanaka a call one of these days, sounds like he does 1911s too.
