Can you swap the internals and cylinders in a pair of Smith & Wesson revolvers to get around hand fitting the parts? As an example, I would like a 327TRR8 in 10mm. Could I buy a 610 and a 327 and swap cylinders/internals so that the only necessary gunsmith work is fitting the new barrels? Or would they still need the timing adjusted?

Most likely the timing/endshake/hand/ect will have to be adjusted. Pulling barrels off the aluminum shroud revos is a treat and the risk level is high. Pulling the barrel off of a steel frame revo is cake.
