RFI: Vietnam M70 thread

Re: RFI: Vietnam M70 thread

janitor, for the most part pre-war Model 70's, medium heavy target barrel, .790 at 24 inches, standard stock, most of the rifles used in Vietnam were previously used by the rifle teams, theres some good information in Senichs books.

Re: RFI: Vietnam M70 thread

Yeah, I got the books inbound, but I distinctly remember seeing a thread with some very good info on them, and I can't seem to find it.

I have a 1959 model 70 that was passed down to me from my grandfather. and I have a unique opportunity to have it built by a Marine precision rifle builder. I'm trying to accumulate as much info as I can before we proceed with a period-correct build

Re: RFI: Vietnam M70 thread

Your best bet might be to call Mike at Texas Brigade Armory he is a subject matter expert on this rifle and has built several.
