i'm going to have a 7wsm built. can you guys steer me to some good companies? this will be my first custom bolt gun, so i'm new at this. any help would be appreciated.

Let me be the first to say that the search function is your friend. If you have issues with it then you could simply browse around and read for about an hour or maybe two, you'll find there are a lot of options and about 10 gunsmiths that are sponsors/supporters of SH.com and all do very nice work.
The first few quick ones...in no order.

I am going to suggest Mike Bush at Skunkworks. He just finished building me a rifle. The fit, finish and attention to detail are absolutely amazing, and on top of building a phenomenal rifle he has been nothing but a pleasure to deal with through the entire process. If you search around you can also see some of the very nice, and very innovative products he has been developing.
