Rifle butt pad position

Hi guys
I've been experimenting with being more square to the rifle
I've switched from the rifle in the shoulder pocket to it being more medial with the top of the recoil pad on the collar bone
Yet after a day of shooting my collar bone seems tender and it's uncomfortable when I shoulder the rifle again
Any tips and experiences for shooting this way

I know shooting so low that the stock is riding the clavicle bone and not supported with enough meat is bad. Your skin rolls around on top of that bone. Just try a 2 second test rubbing with your fingers. I want the top of the pad even with the top of my pocket, with 3/4-7/8 of the pad down on my outside pec muscle. Add a slight left cant to the stock for a righty shooter too.
