Hello everyone

Recently started building a LR308 and looking around and seen that some rifles were running full rifle length gas systems with the carbine buffer. I was always under the impression that you would only use carbine or mid length on a carbine buffer system. Please educate me on how they are making the action cycle properly in this configuration. Looking to build or buy a 260 or 6.5CM upper later and would like to know if I have to get one of the heavier buffers to make this work or is the normal buffer good to use.

Thank you for your replies

A lot of the guns are configured RLGS, carbine extension tube, AR10 carbine buffer, or one of the intermediate carbine extension tubes and buffers for AR10's (Armalite).

It will depend on your gas port diameter, dwell time length, and the range of loads you use with what recoil system balances out best.

You might try the JP Captured Spring first.
