Okay guys- I'm hoping someone has something similar or a good idea of what I need.

Got a 700P LTR w a seekins 20MOA base; I have a bushnell 3-12x44 FFP tactical scope on the way. I need to order some rings so I can have this all set for the weekend hunt. Yup, very much behind the 8-ball here. I THINK the seekins 30mm low rings will get the job done, but since the rifle is at the gunsmith's getting 8-40 holes, scope isn't here yet... I have absolutely nothing to go on other than ring height to center line and objective diameter. That doesn't help on barrel clearance though.

Hope someone has some good input here! Thanks!

Re: Ring height?

Okay, Seekin's has zero stock in all of their 30mm rings- any dealers on here have them in stock??? And could they get them to me by thursday??

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

Liberty looks to be out of all seekins rings, swfa has medium... which I'm waiting on a call back- if I don't get any other ideas between now and when they call back, I'll just go medium. It's only like 0.05 higher than the lows, so it's not remarkably higher

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

Well, SWFA had the medium's in stock; got them shipped second day air, so I will have them in time. The height difference is really pretty small, so I'm not worried about that. Besides, I may very well end up using these rings with a 44mm USO scope down the road as this bushnell is a temp set-up and will eventually find it's way to my .17hmr. At that point I'll look at the burris xtr's.

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

Unless I'm smoking crack & mixed all my facts, Seekins makes rings for Vortex. Try opticsplanet with their current 11% anniversary promotion for $105 shipped. Only difference appears is Vortex low is 0.87" while Seekins low is 0.82" and brand logo.

Note: I am not affiliated with them. Long story short, I was shooting 1" rings on my TRG but wanted lower--moved the rings to a new rifle that needed 1" & finally had a reason to need them.

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

I was told same thing about the Vortex PMR rings being made by Seekins. Bought a set (was too impatient to wait for the Seekins lows) and they do seem like a carbon copy of my Seekins on another rifle.

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

We stick the vortex logo on some and ship them their way. Exact same thing except the logo on the cap

Glad you found some!

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

Well, for anyone that's interested, there is PLENTY of clearance on the objective to barrel end of this scope. I'm not worried, because it's not excessive, but I do believe the low rings may have been a bit more desirable in this combination. But again, the difference really isn't enough to get too worried about.

After I bed the rail I'll post a picture of the clearance. Might help out others later on!

Re:Ring height... Now need Seekins stocking dealer

I wouldn't be as worried about the excessive clearance more so about proper fit. I know I prefer low rings just to maintain consistent check weld and not stretching your neck for proper sight picture.

Throw a stock pack on for now if needed and if prefer lows, look at trading the rings when you have the time after hunting season.
