What type of scope? Does it have an adjustable objective? (This makes the objective end larger on outside diameter). Are you running Butler Creeks (covers protecting glass.)or equivalent. These will need more room to operate.

Re: Rings Question

When you say monolithic type upper are you speaking in terms of an AR15 variant?

If yes, then you would be better off with rings that are at least 1.50" from rail to center line.

Re: Rings Question

I don't know how high the "high" rings you're speaking of are but as long as the rings are at LEAST 1.20" high from the center of the ring to the top of the rail I think you should be fine. That should allow about a .20" space between the objective bell and the rail keep in mind this is just to clear the obj bell and not for proper cheek weld on the stock.
