I'll probably get the Seekins AR 30mm rings but wondered if there are others to look at. Scope will be a SS 1-6 (some day), SS 3-9 or Vortex PST/NF 2.5-10X32. The stock is a Magpul CTR. I want to go light, have no need for a QD mount. Can I go lower than the Seekins AR rings or will I run into trouble with the charging handle or cheek weld?

Re: Rings recommendation for MATEN

That's true. I used to have one of their DirectMounts on a Rem. 700. I might consider the Uni and that makes me wonder too whether I can really even get the mounting/sight picture I want with conventional rings. Should I be looking at a cantilevered mount? I checked out the Aadmount and it's over 8 oz.

American Defense Manufacturing ADM-RECON-S with 20MOA cant. Built well, holds fast, and made in the states! I have an IOR 3-18 mounted in it, so I got the ADM-RECON-SW20MOA 35mm on my MA-Ten. I didn't need the offset of a cantilever mount, but if you do, just get the standard ADM-RECON. Plus, you can get them all at Midway and use a coupon.

Re: Rings recommendation for MATEN

I just put a set of Badger AR-10 rings on my Maten. Part # 306-792. Haven't shot it yet but they are well made and the height looks seems perfect

Even though you say you don't need a QD mount ~ I have the ADM AD-RECON-SW on two MA TEN's both with USO Optics.
Perfect zero every time and cost is as cheap if not cheaper than std rings.
FWIW, Seekins rings are great and I have them on my bolt gun.
YMMV

Re: Rings recommendation for MATEN

Thanks. All very good recommendations. Light weight is a big factor for me. But I'm also wondering...being new to ARs...whether a cantilevered mount might be needed regardless. Wish I could try out several with a couple of the scopes I mentioned.

Re: Rings recommendation for MATEN

Emmerdeur, that's very generous of you to offer them like that. I just got off the phone with SWFA and placed an order for a set of the Seekins X-Highs (1.26") and an SS 3-9 (I'm so far down the SS 1-6 list the metal ore for the mine hasn't even been dug out of the ground yet).

Thanks!

Re: Rings recommendation for MATEN

I used Badger 22 MOA rail and Leupy MK4 medium rings with my MK4 3.5-10x40. I used the Badger because I already had the rings and scope on my 700. This set up works amazing for me as it puts the glass very low.
