Jaffee was known most for his Fold-Ins — cartoons that featured a hidden joke that was revealed when the reader folded the page toward the middle.

Loved his cartoons. And the whole Mad Magazine world. Who didn’t love Spy vs Spy? And fold-ins? And TV/movie spoofs!

Funny, as kids we weren’t allowed to have comic books. (So devoured them at friends houses.) But we’re allowed to have Mad Magazine! Folks bought it for us!

Maybe our parents weren’t as dumb as we thought.

RIP Al Jaffee.
