RIP BUSH

May he Rest In Peace, but is it necessary to keep the flags at half for an entire month?? How is he anymore important than anyone else??

Saw a pic of Trump giving a military style salute to Bush's coffin. Seems pretty disrespectful that a 5 time draft dodger has the nerve to give a military style salute to a dead WW2 Vet. But I'm sure the Trump supporters will find some way to defend it.

President Donald Trump, National Day of mourning for J H Bush.
Good job on that!

My wife works for the Smithsonian........got a day off.

Thank you tax payer.

I thought we fought a Revolution to shed the idea of royalty from our collective consciousness.

Had they made it sort of a collective recognition of the passing WWII service people than I would have said "Great!" but that wouldnt happen because it wouldnt have been about Bush it would have been bigger.

Perhaps when Bob Dole passes he will serve in that capacity.

Remember all the talking heads currently eulogizing Bush excoriated him as a bumbling idiot, racist, out of touch war monger when he wielded power.

Rather than being used as a symbol of passing WWII vets he is being made into a cudgel to beat the current POTUS just as he was beaten during his term by these same people crying crocodile tears.

The main stream media celebrates dead Republican establishment after bashing them in life.

Should Carter, Clinton or Obama pass I will need to go on vacation out of country as the media wailing and eulogizing will be too much to bear.

The cult worship of "the Dear Leader" is not an American trait.

Some how caring for the Flag became a responsibility of mine at work......an extra duty Im happy to do but....

Our building has these fucked up building mounted flag poles that obviously no one ever took "Half Mast" into account.

and in the late 50s when the building was built our Flag seldom dipped unlike how now it seems to drop weekly.

Anyway in order to get anything that represents Half Mast the POW/MIA flag must rub all against the building as well the state flag. I only bring the National flag down to the point the bottom most corner is an inch above the roof line.

So two out of three flags get worn to shit needing replacement.

Working on getting some standard yard poles but Im betting there will be no money in the budget to light them if it happens which will piss me off as much (more) as/than what we have now.

Than Im not saying you should shut the fuck up because good thoughts come from all perspectives but perhaps when in a glass house it is wise to temper the righteous indignation.

I get what you're saying and I do apologize if my opinion came off sounding like I was speaking by proxy of those who have served. I have a deep respect for those who have served and as someone who's got tons of Marine friends, I won't say semper fi or any other terms like that because I haven't earned the right to say it. That's why I said what I said about Trump. He hasn't earned the right to give a military salute to a dead WW2 Vet.

Serve, dont serve, as long as we have a volunteer military that is everyone choice. Truth is our Country was more free when it concerned itself less with "large standing armies".

In this one particular instance Im a little sensitive as your message is one the media feeds.

Is Trump a draft dodger? Sure as fuck.....but why do we only hear of his bone spurs yet only obliquely is it ever mentioned Clinton burned his draft card.

Treat them all the same or shut the fuck up.

Between Trump and Clinton if you ask which draft dodger has done more to harm or hurt the Country Ive come to a conclusion.

That was then, this is now.

My son once got a letter for failure to register for ss.
I opened it and laughed my ass off.
Gave the enclosed number a call.

Told them he had been on early enlistment since 17 years old,
And was currently on deployment in some shit hole. Lol
And do thier own leg work for a copy of his orders.

There hasn't been a draft in 40 years you must be confusing it with the nfl.

The comander in chief is expected to salute in some situations.
Like him or not djt is head of the military.

Edit: I voted for both Bush presidents.
As far as I'm concerned djt is serving now, comitment filled.
