Re: RL-22 and 75gr A-Max in 250 Improved?
Sorry I never updated this for you until now. I did find a nice load for his rifle. I started at 36.5 re-19 and loaded up 40.0 in .5 increments. I loaded 2 of each and did 2 ladder tests at 200 yards, figuring 2 would help to show shooter error. They both looked identical after I was done. At 38.5 the pressure started to show on target as the rounds threw up and left considerably (3.5" left and 1.5" up) from the main group. By 40, the bolt was sticky. Between 37 and 37.5 was the best area on both ladders (they stacked together in almost then same hole at 200) so I made the load 37.3 and sent them off with my buddy. I didn't have time to chrono them until he came back. Well they chrono'ed at 3155 fps at just shy of 40 degrees. I can't imagine how fast the ones loaded at 40.0 were going and I may load one more up and check it just for fun when he gets back.
Did you get anywhere with the re-22?
