Hey All, been researching new loads for my 280 ackley and am doing a lot of searching on powders. I've heard from people I know and trust that they've had temp sensitivity issues with RL22 and I've also heard the complete opposite? What are your experiences with it and have you used it over a wide range of temps with no issues? Thanks

Mike

Re: RL22 temp sensitivity?

I use the RL22 in my 300 WM. I find that from about 60 degrees to about 90s degrees, there is not a whole lot of temp changes in velocity. Once it drops to below 50's I find that my velocity changes to about 2-3 fps/ degree.

Re: RL22 temp sensitivity?

Thanks for the info.... I've been using IMR4831 in my 280AI with good results with the 162 Amax's, but my fireforming loads with RL22 was retardedly accurate and I have yet to shoot groups as good with the IMR4831 as I did with my fireforming loads.

I'm also going to be working up some loads with the 168 berger VLD's thus I'm researching different powders to start working with. If anybody has suggestions I'd much appreciate it.

This is all from a 1:8.7" twist 24" Rock Creek barrel...
