I’m struggling to find a good load for this barrel. Does anyone have this barrel and a pet load for it?

Criterion’s M24 prefit is a .308 M24/M40 26” 1-10. They list the chamber as M118LR. Evidently, it’s now been discontinued by Brownells.

I’ve done several ladders using M118LR type components, but I have yet to find anything that has shot well for me.

30 gr of retumbo behind any 110gr bullet of course... it’s guranteed to work since you didn’t even mention a chambering.

Perhaps a bit more attention to the details would help you in your search for a load.

You had me going for a second. I’m wondering wtf I didn’t see a chambering. The attention to detail is a military thing. Normal people don’t have to worry with such trivial things when reloading.

I’ve done ladder tests with 155 Palmas, 155 TMKs, and 175 SMKs using Varget, Lapua brass, and BR2s. I found nodes. I shot groups using the charges at the modes. The groups look like patterns.

I’ve shot Reloader 15 with 155 AMAXs.

I’ve burned up a lot of components looking for something that works.

I’ve emailed the company. They didn’t respond.

I’m a HM rifle shooter that was a varsity shooter and coach at a successful collegiate program.

I was hoping someone might have this barrel and a load that works. I’ve got numerous manuals.

My other rifles routinely shoot sub-MOA groups without much ammo testing. This barrel just seems to be a dud.

Don't email. Call the company. I have never had a problem as all my Criterion barrels have been half moa or better capable. I have dealt with Michael as well as Stephanie at Criterion and both were very helpful. They are busy, so you may have to call a few times to get someone on the phone.

Also, I believe Brownells has a satisfaction guarantee, but I have not dealt much with them.

I took the handguard off, reset the headspace, and removed the muzzle brake.

As I shot, the groups were getting tighter. But, I only had three rounds for the last group.
