RPR in 300 Win Mag....

I'm considering getting another RPR in a 300 Win Mag. Does anyone have one in this caliber? I currently have 2 in 6.5 Creedmoor and really like them both. Just looking for feedback if anybody has experience in that rifle and caliber.
Thanks!

I have one and like it a lot. It shoots the 225 eld-m really well. Well thought out gun as far as twist rate, weight, ergonomics, mag size. I can load to the lands if I wanted with the 225 eld m and still have room in the magazine.

If you reload check out the 300 PRC in a RPR platform. Managed to get one at $1550 before tax and paper work fees. Haven’t got the reloading tools for it yet with the way things are going online shopping wise. But if the thread is still going I will post results if someone is wondering.

Absolutely! Please do....! Thanks

Curious why you want it in 300 WM when 300 PRC is ballistically superior. I understand that pricing is a pro for WM and I am in no way hating. Just really curious what drives you to the 300 WM. What are you planning on doing with it that you can't do with your creedmoor.

I sure didn't see the PRC out doing the WM.... in very comparable builds. The 300 win mag was actually faster and just as accurate. I would say it just opposite.... the 300 prc is better only if you don't reload.... or if you have a mental block about a belt on the case.

I have a 300WM RPR. HAve not finished load development yet but I like where its going. Using H1000 but have run out. 175gr Lapua ScenarL at 3010fps.
Grouping less than .6 at 200. Need more powder!! It is a pleasure to shoot.

No, the opposite is true. I rebarreled my 300 WM into a 300 PRC, and it is slightly superior in every way. The ONLY reason to get a 300 WM is for the variety and availability of factory ammo.

I'll admit that I haven't read the 70 pages on the PRC, but it's not as cut and dry as you are saying it. I've been around 2 of them, and that's not much, but those 2 were not superior. They were nice rifles for sure- and they were accurate, but they should have been because they had good components and were built correctly.
Also, most of the time when someone says that they re barreled their WM to a PRC and saw big improvements they are comparing the factory 300wm barrel to a aftermarket PRC barrel. That's not fair- I'm comparing a custom 300wm to custom PRC. We were very surprised by the results when we were shooting them because we were expecting the PRC to be faster, And when we started hitting pressure signs it just wasn't. Chalk it up to whatever- it could be the barrel or the fact that we had better brass than Hornady for the WM.
A few days later my friend sent me a link from Mark and Sam on youtube.... and they found the same thing when they compared them. That's still not much of a sample size- but enough to make me skeptical of the "superior in every way" claims.

It depends on what you're going for, but if it's long range performance, then it pretty much is that cut and dry.

I've fired close to 2000 300 WM rounds and 1000+ 300 PRC rounds out of the same rifle. I measured the results. The 300 PRC has a slightly higher case capacity and can more readily accept longer, heavier bullets. This translates to either better muzzle velocity with the same bullet, or similar velocities with a heavier bullet.

For me, I found that ~2850 fps worked well with both rifles. Only the PRC did it with a 225 or 230 gr bullet whereas I was using a 200 gr Berger hybrid in the WM.

Note that I did not claim "big improvements." I said "slightly superior in every way."
