RRS quick release rail for AI AE

starting to look at a tripod set up and was wondering if they make a quick release rail for the RRS clamp for an AE MKIII. Would the Anschutz rail work??

Thanks.

Do not purchase this for your AI AE. The bottom of the AE has has a slot that looks like Anschutz and has a circluar cut on one end but it is not for Anschutz rails. The best I have been able to direct people is, another company like Badger possibly makes a picatinny section that is specifically for that slot, then you can use our NATO Dovetail.

Also pictures 1/2/4/5 of the link you posted are of the plate specifically made for the newer style AT (BAI-AT) with the Keyslot underneath, the rest of the pictures are for the BANS-80 Anschutz rail. I am working with B&H to fix issues with product images and descriptions in this extremely new relationship with them, sorry for any confusion.

Awesome! Thanks, I appreciate the clarification.

Slightly off topic, but reading this thread had me going to B&H and looking to see all of the mounts you have there. I saw just what I need for the new Tikka in McRee G10 stock. A dovetail mount with M-Lok that can replace the rail they put back there.

So thanks from me in a tangential sort of way.

I'm glad I read this before trying to install the mount so it will save me some headaches.

Best option here is the alamo four star AI pic rail with the RRS nato mount. The hardware is specific to the oddball AI rail slot which isnt neither Freeland nor Anschutz dimensions.

No offence to Kasey but I tried the accushot rail and didnt think the accushot "T-Slot" bolts gave enough purchase on the rail to trust my AI with SB optic.

US Tactical Supply still has them as they are a discontinued item. http://ustacticalsupply.com/aipicatinnyrail.aspx

Glad I stumbled on this thread. Just to confirm then that RRS is not planning to produce anything in the future and that the NATO Dovetail is the best/only solution for the Arca-Swiss clamp? Looking forward to making a purchase if there is nothing better coming in the short term.

Send them your chassis. I wasnt told no just that they (RRS) didnt have one to use for a model.

Considering the AT is a baby on the scene on how frigging many legacy AIAE/AW/AWM/AICS there are in the wild its a smart business move to make a non LEGO solution...but thats just my opinion.

I didnt want to be without my rifle for weeks or months so I cant say I really helpped much.

This is the Alamo rail with the RRS nato rail installed. I cut the rail so it would be the same length. The Nato mount takes up 5 pic rail slots and the Alamo pic rail is 8 or 9.

Awesome!! Thanks a lot for pointing me to that, I couldn't find any options when I looked.

Cheers!

Hey guys we have 6 firearm specific projects in the works right now. A mount for the Legacy chassis does not have our highest priority to be blunt, and now that I know who makes a Pic rail for it (Thanks Anchor06), we will probably just push people in that direction with the use of our NATO.

Good to know; the inference is there is the Website and it would be a great idea to put that information up so there is some clarity about what to do and how to do it. And now I can make an order too!

photo70179.jpg A good news story. photo70180.jpg

The NATO attachment has arrived and has been installed without fuss and bother.

Dry firing from multiple positions in the backyard (all Xs of course) tested the gear and the next step is seeing what works/does not work under recoil.

I received mine last week as well. Went on very easy. just waiting on my tripod now.

I already had the Anschutz rail adapter on my work bench when this thread was started so I modified it to work. It turned out pretty good and was good practice since I'm still learning on the mill.

I think you will have to find a used one at this point, I stumbled across one last year but they don't pop up very often. You could get a universal rail from mile high that will work as well. Here is one way to do it as well, I bought the anschutz rail adapter and made a new backing plate out of aluminum.

Do you have a link to the plate you have on you AW?
Thanks
