Can you guys please comment on the stability/pros & cons of the RRS TFC-33 with Anvil 30 vs the TFCT-33 with Anvil 30? From my understanding, the only difference is how the Anvil 30 interfaces with the tripod. Is there going to be a noticeable difference between 1 setup vs the other? The reason I ask is I am in a pinch to get a tripod in asap. I'm on backorder for the TFCT-33 w/ Anvil, but I can get the TFC-33 and Anvil ordered and on the way today.

I have the fixed apex (TFCT-33) version. From my understanding, there is almost no difference in stability, but you give up easier swaps (ie: to a leveling head or something) of the head in exchange for a smaller folded package with the fixed apex model.

That's good to hear and makes sense.

Just to be clear, both options I'm looking at are the fixed apex so I'll have a more compact folded size. From what I can tell, the TFC and Anvil attach via the 3/8" stud, while the TFCT and Anvil use a taper fit and 3 screws. I'm just wondering/hoping there is little to no difference in those 2.

Oh. That's a different story. If you buy the TFC-33 and Anvil separately, you can get the fixed apex that's made for the Anvil. I won my TFC-33 legs off the prize table at the AI match last year, then bought the ANvil with the fixed apex conversion to turn mine into TFCT-33 configuration.

If that's the difference you're looking at, and not video bowl vs fixed apex, then the TFCT all the way. If you were to buy the Anvil direct from RRS, you can even select the fixed apex conversion (which is how I got mine). I bet if you call RRS directly, you can buy just the apex if needed.

That's a good point on ordering the apex separately, thanks!
