The RSQ1 is manufactured in Chilliwack, British Columbia. It’s machined out of 7075 T6511 aluminum alloy. It features a match grade hand lapped 20” heavy barrel, .223 Wylde chamber, 1:8 twist, 5/8x24 thread pattern on the muzzle, ported muzzle break, M lok compatible handguard, spring loaded folding left side charging handle, Trigger Tech Diamond adjustable 1.5lb - 4lb flat faced trigger, and an adjustable stock.
The upper and lower are a proprietary design. They’re much thicker than on an AR15, they slide together and lock on lugs, then are secured with a bolt as opposed to hinging on a pin like ARs do. This helps reduce harmonic inconsistencies. The barrel extension is thicker and longer than on a regular AR15. It supports the barrel over a greater surface area, and sits in the receiver deeper. This eliminates the need to bed the barrel as is commonly done to help with accuracy in AR15s. The barrel nut is also thicker and longer supporting the handguard over a greater surface area. The barrel extension pin and bolt carrier group are also proprietary.
Different receiver dimensions and barrel profiles were tested to see which would produce the most consistent harmonic signature. This combo was the winner.. It’ll take AR15 magazines, stocks and grips.

Looks nice and the benefits sound good, but at $4250, I think I’d build another AR and just deal with the known intricacies of building one as an accurate rifle and put the leftover ~$2500 into glass or ammo… I’m not necessarily trying to be a dick, but aside from proprietary locking receivers and a stronger/more supported barrel, is there anything else that puts this rifle well into used AI territory? It looks like a great product and I hope it sells for you guys, I’m legit curious on any other benefits it may have.

They missed the mark. They should have made the mag well, upper, and bolt bigger since they went proprietary. If you’re using standard 556 components, LMT and Larue are proven and cheaper.

    Hard pass

It's obviously designed for the Canadian market since most semis have been shoah-ed in the 2020 OIC. I doubt 99% of peeps here will care about an overpriced Canadian AR.

Doesn't mean it's not a scam but there is definitely a market *in Canada* for a non restricted gasser that can take AR parts.

[edit] It does look like a scam.

Canada has a fucked up firearms market due to the fucked up laws.

Companies have to circumvent the rules through non-standard and sometimes unorthodox designs, and making such products for a very limited market/consumer base results in overpriced products that aren't competitive with options down in the US.

There's really no reason to buy a Canadian made semi in the US.
