Ruger 10/22 Backpacker

I was in my local gun store today and they had a Ruger 10/22 Takedown with the backpacker stock. Pretty cool looking setup, and it also has a threaded barrel. Just curious how these things shoot? Do they function well as suppressor host rifles? Return to zero after takedown/reassembly?

I have never had any issues with the one I had at one point. Very accurate for the price point and I would recommend one. I ran a suppressor on mine and if anything, it helped the accuracy. One thing I don't like, the action wont lock back after the last round, or at least it didn't on mine.

Mine sucked. Accuracy was mediocre and a significant POI changes with reasssembly

No 10/22 rifles that I know of have last round hold open except the T/CR22. It requires the factory mag, receiver, and trigger for the last round hold open to work.

If there is a big point of impact change in a Ruger Take-down, then the take-down portion probably needs to adjusted. See the '10/22 Takedown Features' video at the bottom of this page:

Just did some testing on mine. RTZ was good when just removing optic and placing it back on. When removing the barrel I had a slight POI shift. Enough that if I was shooting beyond 100 yards, I'd rezero just to be spot on.

Beyond that the accuracy of mine is stellar at 25 yards. One hole. My groups grew to about 2"-3" @ 100 yards using the 15x on the scope shooting CCI Standard Velocity. I'd like to believe one could get a little better than that but I shoot pretty well at 100 w/ 6.5 CM and a Tikka TacA1 and 30x.

Going to build a dedicated .22 PRS bolt gun using the new Tikka Tx1 for the scope and just stick withe the red dot for weight and portability.

Also, Magpul makes a rail that mounts to the barrel that would eliminate POI changes when removing/replacing the barrel.

Aesthetically/packability I'm not a fan. But function should be 100%.
