Picked up one of these rifles, and really like it. Just wondering if anyone out there has one of these and could suggest some accurizing upgrades for this model ruger.
    Thanks for your time!

a trigger is all i would recommend . perhaps a jard . you can improve just about everything on the rifle , just have to decide where to draw the line . my a/w 77 22 was quite accurate btw

Has anyone upgraded their stock from the plastic one? I ordered the Boyds thumbhole, but it's inletted for different 77/22, not the all weather version I guess. I didn't know there was a difference. I've got a Lilja, but of course it won't fit in that narrow barrel channel on the plastic stock and re-contouring that channel looks like a SNAFU.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you at least yell, "FORE?!!!" Oh, wait... you said "gophers..." nevermind...

I threw a Volquartsen sear in mine and it cleaned up the trigger considerably, with a bit of stoning here and there the trigger is pretty incredible. Also, if you are looking for a stock check out Volquartsen's laminate sporter stocks. Nice quality and excellent fit. Down the line you could always look at an aftermarket bull barrel as well. Those little rifles are super fun to shoot!

No stock upgrades? Has anyone inletted the barrel channel on the plastic stock?

    Volquartsen Laminate sporter stock.

Thanks for the link, but this is for the "All Weather" version of 77/22. They are different.

I have the stock wood stock that came with my all weather when I put my fiberglass on. Its just sitting.

Only difference I believe there is on the all weather is its got a varmint contour barrel.

If you can find a the B&C stock without the aluminum block built in, which is hard to find I believe. As well as have minor bedding skills, dremal skills, and allot of patience you can produce this type of stock. I cycle these pics allot on here but I guess I am hoping someone else out there takes the challenge and builds one so I am not one of the only ones

I call BS on this one.

"All Weather" just refers to the finish, the footprint of the action is the same. If you think it isn't show us some pictures or take measurements of what part of the inletting isn't fitting.

If you have a stock that doesn't fit, the "All Weather" part isn't the problem.

Either you don't know what stock you bought or what rifle you have. The 77/22 is based off the Ruger M77 Mark II centerfire rifle, and chances are you bought a centerfire stock.

the difference between the factory wood and plastic models are the metal work for the mag release the plastic mod has some internal moulding and a cross pin to hold the release, the wood version has a more trad botoom metal , the two are not interchangable with new parts and a lot of work, if memory serves right there is a difference in the recever where the mag assembly attaches,
as far as accuracy goes slip a washer over the front stock screw between the front block and stock and then you will only have to remove a small ammountof plastic at the very front where the barrel touches to free float it, that washer really lifts the barrel action up , mag still works and you can not visually tell its in there

This is what I'm finding out. the plastic version had the trigger guard built in. I ordered the trigger guard when I got the stock, but it's still missing a piece forward of that. I'll get it figured out. Thanks for the input and feedback.

I've got the 77/22 all weather with plastic stock (trigger guard built it). ordered the boyds thumbhole stock and 77/22 trigger guard assembly. When both are on the stock, I'm still missing a piece of bottom metal forward of that. I looked on Ruger's site and found a part # (don't have it handy). So I'll get it put together someday. your centerfire stock quote above is funny, because Boyd sent me the wrong stock (centerfire) the first time.

No pictures of a groups here ether but I personally shot groups the size of a quarter at 75yards consistently during a comp last month and only slightly larger at 100yards. Its a pretty good rifle stock as long as you do at least a sear change and make sure the barrel is floated right.
